What kind of market is a handicap? Also, is it refunded in the case of a draw?

About the handicap

Updated over 6 months ago

A handicap market is where you predict the outcome of a match after applying the selected handicap.

Example:
For (-2.0) Team A, the result is determined after subtracting 2 goals from Team A’s final score.
If Team A wins 3–1, the adjusted score becomes 1–1, resulting in a draw (refund).
When the handicap includes (.5), there will always be a clear result — no draw (refund) is possible.

The Handicap (Asian) follows the same basic rules as the standard [Handicap] market, but values like 1.25 or 1.75 are split into two parts.
For example, 1.25 is divided into 1 and 1.5, while 1.75 is divided into 1.5 and 2 — the results are applied to each split.

Example:
If you choose (-1.75) Team A, it splits into (-1.5) Team A and (-2.0) Team A.
Win by 3 or more goals: WIN — both (-1.5) and (-2.0) Team A bets win.
Win by 2 goals: HALF WIN — (-1.5) Team A wins, (-2.0) Team A is a draw.
Win by 1 goal or less: LOSE — both (-1.5) and (-2.0) Team A lose.

If you choose (+1.75) Team B, it splits into (+1.5) Team B and (+2.0) Team B.
Win or lose by 1 goal: WIN — both (+1.5) and (+2.0) Team B bets win.
Lose by 2 goals: HALF LOSE — (+1.5) Team B loses, (+2.0) Team B is a draw.
Lose by 2 goals or more: LOSE — both (+1.5) and (+2.0) Team B lose.

* HALF LOSE: means half the bet loses and half is a draw. Half of the stake is refunded.
* HALF WIN: means half the bet wins and half is a draw. You receive half the winnings (stake × odds ÷ 2) plus a refund of the other half of your stake.
